My Approach to Helping

If you're here, you're looking for a therapist you can trust and work with. I'm a direct, empathic, and fearless practitioner who believes in the power of relationship to create new possibilities. I will assist you in becoming more curious and compassionately present in your life and partnership(s) and, as such, therapy will be tailored to your specific needs and goals. Therapy is a commitment of time, resources, and a willingness to create change. Change requires curiosity, vulnerable, tolerating tough emotions and taking responsibility for your behavior, while finding new ways to grow and better relate to yourself and others.

Professionally I'm a clinical social worker, sex therapist and supervisory or sex therapy, with more than 25 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families move past struggle and into a more centered place in life their lives. I also lecture and teach, locally and internationally, on issues of sex, sexuality, PTSD and relationships and relational therapy. While relationship therapy and issues of sex and sexuality are a major focus of my clinical work, I also work with people who are confronting various life transitions, psychological trauma, and other life challenges that impact quality of life. I maintain a culturally diverse, LGBTQQIA+ welcoming, and kink affirming psychotherapy practice. I offer my clients a safe and respectful space to explore and honor their experiences while building a more satisfying life.

You are not alone. You do not have to be held hostage by what pains, injures, or frightens you. Whatever the struggle; there is always an opportunity to create new pathways toward hope and meaning in your life and your relationships. Growth, while challenging, offers possibilities to break the isolation and injury of remaining silent and feeling powerless.

More Info About My Practice

Psychotherapy is more than simply talking and, as such, can be emotionally challenging. Exploring the past, both good and not so good, helps us understand how these experiences inform how we see ourselves and others in the present. If you want to explore the possibility of creating change, in a respectful and supportive environment, please feel free to contact me.
