My Approach to Helping

We can sometimes feel stuck and overwhelmed as part of living a human life. Seeking compassionate, professional help is a proactive way to move forward through life's challenges. My approach is warm, genuine, and respectful. I support people in dismantling the barriers to connection, creativity, and calm in their lives and setting boundaries as a strong container for personal growth. I work with adults of all ages who are creating a life that is a true expression of who they are. Some people are navigating career transitions, exploring spirituality, and finding a way forward through relationship challenges. Whether you would like to work on something specific or just want a safe place to talk, I offer a compassionate dialogue that empowers you to hear your own wisdom.

I believe therapy is a mutual collaboration and that you are the author of your life. I have seen self-growth and healing occur when we can relate to parts of our selves and other people with compassion and equanimity. Many of us have an abundance of inner resources and strengths and sometimes we want support in empowering these parts of our personalities. My intention is to help you transform life's challenges into a story of agency and resiliency. Whatever path you are on, I honor the courage it takes to walk it.

More Info About My Practice

I am open to a body-mind-spirit perspective. My background as a yoga instructor informs my work as a therapist. I have pursued additional training in mindful self-compassion (MSC), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), expressive arts therapy, and eco-therapy. I sometimes incorporate art, writing, mindfulness, self-compassion practice, or reverence for nature in a therapy session.

I recently made a business decision to leave insurance panels and I can provide paperwork for you to bill your insurance company for out of network benefits. Check with your insurance company if this is a part of your plan.

I am a past president of the Idaho Mental Health Counselors Association (IMHCA) board. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, painting, reading fantasy and historical fiction, making soup, and eating soup. I live with a partner, two fur-babes, and many many plants.

***I am only accepting telehealth clients until October 2023. ***
