My Approach to Helping

Feeling stuck and overwhelmed at times is a part of being human and seeking compassionate, professional help is proactive and necessary. My approach is warm, genuine, and respectful. I enjoy supporting people in a way that brings more connection, creativity, and calm into their lives. I specialize in working with young adults in their 20s and 30s who would like to work on their relationships, feel more love and acceptance toward themselves, navigate career transitions, and find a way forward through life's challenges. Whether you wish to work on something specific or are just looking for someone to talk to, I can provide a comfortable place to explore these issues.

I believe therapy should be a mutual collaboration and that you are the author of your life. I don't believe in diagnosing or labeling people. I do believe there is room for humor and laughter in therapy and that self-growth and healing can occur when we spend time with people that see us as fundamentally good. I believe that often we have the inner resources necessary to heal and grow and that sometimes we need guidance in empowering those parts of our selves. My intention is to help you turn life's challenges into an example of your strength and resiliency. Whatever path you are on, I honor the courage it takes to ask for help.

More Info About My Practice

I am open to a body-mind-spirit healing perspective. My background as a yoga instructor informs my work and study as a therapist and I have pursued additional training in the areas of mindful self-compassion (MSC), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), expressive arts therapy, and eco-therapy (outdoornature therapy). I sometimes incorporate creative art, writing, or mindfulness in session. I am a past president of the Idaho Mental Health Counseling Association (IMHCA) board.
