My Approach to Helping
Choosing a therapist can be difficult and challenging. I applaud you for taking this positive step.
Maybe you feel your life has changed due to overwhelming emotions such as anxiety, confusion, or depression. Possibly you are experiencing anger issues, grieving the loss of a loved one, or have addiction issues. It could be that stress and panic have invaded your life with a vengeance. Perhaps you are having relationship issues, have been deployed in the military, or have chronic pain. You may have been traumatized by emotional or physical violence, sexual assault, an accident, or been close to death in some way.
If you have any of these concerns, call me. I have 20+ years helping people with these issues as well as trauma expertise. We will probably work well together.
I use several different treatment methods in therapy. EMDR and EFT are extremely fast and very efficient. Mindfulness teaches how to be aware of thoughts and emotions and how to calm the mind. I use Gottman Therapy for couples and FSAP for addictions. My clients are amazed to see the positive changes in themselves using these types of therapies. Also, these treatment methods are supported by a great deal of research.
I will provide a safe, non-judgemental, and positive place where you can discuss your concerns. Together we will develop a therapeutic relationship, that is, a connection which will promote healing and growth. I will listen to your goals for therapy and we will work on a treatment plan together.
