My Approach to Helping
I offer my clients a warm presence of unconditional positive regard. My clients view me as a nonjudgmental and safe person who offers feedback in a gentle, direct manner. I can respect and understand multiple perspectives, building a healthy rapport with each member of a group in family or couples therapy. Clients consistently acknowledge my ability to maintain an unbiased, neutral perspective.
I'm highly skilled at helping couples, in addition to helping individuals manage addiction and mood challenges. I effectively treat clients who are skeptical about the benefits of therapy. I have a strong appreciation for ethnic and cultural factors that influence personal identity and values and have achieved a high level of competency when it comes to relating and working with minority group members.
I believe that a strong alliance between a therapist and client is key to successful therapy. I prioritize your right and need to feel validated, heard, supported, safe, and not judged as we work toward your goals. I rely on evidence-based approaches, integrating approaches that are tailored to your unique challenges.
I encourage you to actively engage in therapy. The process shouldn't be about me telling you what to do. Instead, my job is to help you discover and enhance your innate potential. It's a gift to walk alongside you as you journey toward peace, satisfaction, and empowerment in your personal and professional lives.
