My Approach to Helping
Welcome! Everyone can use a safe place to talk. Whether you are overwhelmed with classes, friends, sense of self, significant other relationships and even parent child relationships I want to hear your story. I am here for you and you are not alone.
My counseling style is gentle, compassionate, engaging and non-judgmental. My passion and therapeutic style is DBT. (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). DBT is based on learning and utilizing skills on how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate, and improve relationships with others. I like to say DBT is like a life preserver it gives you a "rope" to hang on to and pull yourself up.
I encourage clients to be themselves and not hold back. This is your place and you get to communicate in your own style.
For clients that have weekly sessions I provide at no additional charge messaging anytime through my private HIPAA compliant platform. The frequency with which you can have contact with me to work through day to day emotions and problem solving is up to you. I have found it beneficial to clients to be able to have access to their therapist when needed in addition to a regular weekly therapy schedule. Some weeks are just tougher than others.
