My Approach to Helping

My counseling style is gentle, compassionate, engaging and non-judgmental. I take a hands-on and personalized therapeutic approach with clients. I often use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) along with other therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
My counseling style is gentle, compassionate, engaging and non-judgmental. DBT is based on learning and utilizing skills on how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate, and improve relationships with others. I like to say DBT is like a life preserver it gives you a "rope" to hang on to and pull yourself up.
I encourage clients to be themselves and not hold back. This is your place and you get to communicate in your own style.
