My Approach to Helping

Recognizing how much power our thoughts have in determining our quality of life, then implementing mindfulness to promote positive change is a powerful component in my approach to helping my clients. Seeking therapy is a healthy, positive step that can restore balance to your life, improve communication, and provide insight about yourself and those who are important to you. A common feeling is, "my life was fine until it wasn't." This is when therapeutic support can be extremely helpful in navigating these temporary "bumps in the road" so you can move forward in life.

More Info About My Practice

I offer MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) which is a tool based on Carl Jung's theories of the collective unconscious; using colors and symbols. it is an enjoyable way to reveal some issues that you may be unaware of. This along with Guided Music and Imagery, which I also offer to my clients, provide an adjunct to traditional talk therapy and can speed healing.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I often see times of transition as the source of renewed conflict for couples, individuals and families. For example, women's roles in life are often changing and as a result, it is normal to feel at times conflicted, stressed and unfocused. When children start school, this is often a time women feel unfulfilled because the job as they knew it has ended. Confidence and self-esteem can take a hit because of lack of validation for the contributions made for so many years. What will your next chapter be? This is the time to harness personal strengths, gifts and talents to find new and expanded meaning in life.

My career as a therapist evolved after my children had graduated from college, and I felt compelled to use and share what life had taught me in other ways.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love helping families, couples, and individuals move past challenging stages in their lives in a positive, healthy way all the while realizing that struggles are a normal part of life. Helping my clients cultivate healthy strategies to use in the future and seeing the renewed confidence and happiness as a result, is the most rewarding aspect of my role as a therapist.
