I am a licensed mental health counselor with more than 15 years of experience. My areas of experience include depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), substance abuse, acquired brain injury, as well as other behavior and mood disorders. I help individuals overcome personal or interpersonal issues affecting mental health. Three things are essential to the therapeutic relationship: unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and genuineness from the counselor. I strive to build therapeutic relationships that are focused on addressing clients' needs in ways that are most suitable to each individual's unique situation and personality. I help clients process factors impacting their mental health and work with them on building coping skills. By exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, events, and behavior, clients can gain insight into the problems of their past and present. Clients are assisted in understanding current hindrances to a positive, healthy mental state and implementing strategies to achieve desired goals.
