My Approach to Helping
With over 30 years of counseling experience working in public schools and in private practice, I offer faith based counseling to children, couples and families. I work from a Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused framework to help with a variety of mental health disorders and conditions. I also available for community presentations and consultations.
I believe that those who have experienced a loss, or traumatic event or who want to improve their relationships at home, school, or work can best be helped with acceptance and guidance in a safe and confidential setting. I offer a variety of tools and resources to help lower your stress and make new steps to achieve the goals you set.

More Info About My Practice
I began my journey working with addicts who were strung out on heroin and other drugs and then worked as a teacher, guidance counselor and coach in public schools in California. After 20 years, I realized that I wanted to offer more in-depth counseling to individual students and families to help them cope with school and family issues. Having lost my wife to cancer in 2009, I am very sensitive to grief and loss issues. I am now remarried with 5 more stepsons and a total of 6 grandchildren. I've served as a clinical supervisor and adjunct professor in California before relocating in the Coeur D'Alene area.
I also provide online psycho-therapy to those in both California and Idaho. This is very helpful to those in rural areas who can't see me in the office. It is safe and secure and is becoming the method of choice for individuals and even couples and families.
I'm open to providing workshops, seminars or consultations on a variety of topics including forgiveness, bullying, entitlement, parenting, disruptive behaviors, teen depression and suicide, boundaries with kids and in marriage, child development, and stress management.
