My Approach to Helping
I have worked in the mental health and addictions fields since 2002. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and English.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Board Certified Counselor. In the past, I have worked with adults dealing with various mental health issues, the criminal justice population, women in recovery reunifying with their children, and adults with co-occurring disorders.
My clinical experience has been focused on issues of healthy relationships, dual diagnosis, substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. I offer a wide range of clinical services which include assessments, evaluations, and groups, in addition to individual and couples counseling. I work with my clients from a theoretical orientation of counseling that blends cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and family systems theories. I believe in supporting clients in their emotional growth process while allowing them to determine their own pace and direction.
I am an easy-going, positive person who likes to help others live their lives to their fullest extent.
