My Approach to Helping

Through a solution-focused approach, I help clients create an action plan to remove roadblocks from their path to obtaining a more meaningful, well-balanced life. The focus is on solutions rather than problems, on strengths rather than weaknesses, and on skills and resources rather than deficits. I work with individuals, couples, families, and teens on behavioral and emotional issues including, depression, anxiety, infidelity and divorce recovery, grief, self-esteem, and parenting support.

Whether you are in need of serious help or just looking to strengthen from good to great in certain areas of your life, counseling services with my approach can go a long way to help you navigate life's ups and downs. If you or someone you know needs counseling support, I am here to help. My passion is partnering with clients to create a step-by-step plan with positive actions that can help you heal and recover, and bring a more meaningful, well-balanced life.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Although everyone is different, a typical course of treatment at Positive Actions International can last six to twelve weeks and takes clients through four phases:
1) Intake and evaluation; building a relationship that provides hope.
2) Discovery and planning; focusing on the emotional, relational and spiritual areas of the client?s life, their thoughts about the problem and what concrete positive actions can be taken to improve their situation.
3) Training and building; developing the skills needed to better manage their situation.
4) Reflection and reinforcement; understanding how they have positively changed, emphasizing the new skills they have gained to help them live a more meaningful, well balanced life.
