My Approach to Helping
My goal and hope is to help you flourish with purpose and peace in whatever season of life you may find yourself in.
I believe that the counseling process should be collaborative in nature, with each client’s needs and goals being the brightest guiding point for treatment planning and therapeutic practice. I also believe that in approaching therapy we must also approach each individual as a whole person, rather than a grouping of symptoms connected to a diagnosis. I hold that mental health is deeply connected to physical health and wellbeing, nutrition, social connectivity and community, one’s faith, and one’s cultural worldview. With this in mind, I welcome and value the entirety of each person and the unique facets that define individuality, contribute to mental health, and guide both short-term therapeutic and long-term life goal directives.
My approach to counseling is client-focused and grounded in empirically supported research and the use of therapeutic techniques derived from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness based interventions derived from DBT, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.
I would be honored to have the opportunity to speak with you about your mental health and would welcome a phone call or email to further connect. Please don't hesitate to reach out!
