My Approach to Helping

I believe counseling is about helping you become the best version of yourself. I am committed to helping you feel comfortable in the therapy process. I will provide you with a space where you can feel safe, relaxed, and supported. My approach blends gentleness, warmth, and empathy with teaching skills to promote real life changes.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are my primary treatment models. This includes a focus on skill-building around mindfulness, interpersonal skills, tolerating distress, and regulating emotions, as well as the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have completed an advanced training program in CBT through the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy and practice DBT-informed care. However, I will work with you to tailor our work to fit your needs. I specialize in working with teenagers and young adults struggling with depression and anxiety.
