My Approach to Helping
Navigating the challenges of adolescence and the transition to adulthood is difficult for teens and parents alike. The stress of school, work, friends and major life decisions can create feelings of anxiety, depression and shame in many teens and young adults. Teens wonder how they'll have the confidence and skills to meet their goals in life. Parents wonder if their child is resilient enough to face real life challenges that lie ahead and struggle to just communicate with their child.
I've been helping parents and teens navigate these turbulent years for over a decade. I value the relationship of safety and trust I build with my teen and young adult clients and do my best to ensure they are eager to return after their first session. By helping them identify their negative thinking patterns and shameful thoughts and replacing negative coping skills with positive ones, we move past these barriers to build confidence and resiliency that will carry them into adulthood.
