My Approach to Helping
I use psychoanalytic psychotherapy to help people feel better and enjoy their lives more. When the emotions of life moments are too troubling or overwhelming and we don't have a way or place to deal with them we might automatically and without thinking solve for that by unconsciously working to keep those emotions and meanings out of our awareness in order to maintain stability and relative calmness. This is potentially helpful and adaptive in the short term but a solution that over the long term requires lots of energy and is often costly to our happiness and relationships in the future. I aim to help provide space where awareness, processing, understanding and growth can occur in a safe enough relationship.
