Are you tired of fighting all the time? Are your attempts to reach your partner met with defensiveness or apathy? Have you finally reached a point where you are ready to walk away, and it scares you? Or are you giving it everything you've got, but no matter how hard you try, the same old fights happen over and over again? Relational distress like this happens when our attempts to influence our partners are met with indifference or resistance, but you don't have to be stuck in destructive patterns that get you nowhere.
I understand the drama that keeps couples apart, and my job is to discover the closest distance between two people. I help couples recover from intense conflict and relationship trauma that prevent vibrant partnerships. If your relationship needs this kind of help, you've stopped at the right place.
Sometimes folks ask me how long they should wait before calling a couple therapist. I tell them to treat it like any other pain, and go when it hurts. I know you have many therapists to choose from, but the right relationship makes the difference. Call today at 512-329-5540.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
If you and your partner are exhausted from constant fighting, criticism, or poor communication, relationship therapy may be what makes the difference between healing or drifting further apart. The couples I see describe feeling a loss of love, a lack of trust, loneliness, or even the pain of infidelity. I specialize in high conflict situations with couples who may experience mental illness, addiction, individual or relationship trauma, or major life transitions like divorce. Whether you are starting a new relationship, searching for pre-marital counseling, working through extended family conflict, or navigating sexual challenges, I can help. If you are wondering whether the time is right, call me today at 512-329-5540. I'll share my services with you and help you decide if couple therapy is what you need.
My Therapy Focus
Over time, we can feel like we slowly lose sight of each other, which can make us do strange things. Have you found yourself pursuing your partner only to discover that the harder you try, the more they withdraw? Couples therapy attends to relationship conflict by first bringing your walls down, second increasing safety and togetherness, and third creating a new way of interacting with and affirming one another. My approach to couple counseling involves three major steps. First, I guide partners to mutual acceptance and affirmation through empathy. It is hard to create change when you feel like you are on a battlefield, rather than in a marriage or relationship. Second, I expose the cycle of conflict that has plagued you by guiding you through conversations that help you understand not only why your partner behaves the way she or he does, but also helps you comprehend why you might behave as you do. Finally, I help couples change that cycle by initiating new conversations that interrupt conflict cycles with healing ones.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
I respect your uncertainty, and even your suspicion. If you and your partner have read books, tried workshops, been to retreats, or tried therapy before and you haven't seen positive results, I empathize with your fear about trying again. Sometimes I get asked what makes my approach different. My answer is simple: experience and training. I received six years of advanced couple therapy training from some of the best clinicians, researchers, and trainers in the field. Not only do I practice and specialize in couple therapy, I also teach, write, and speak about relationship recovery all over the United States. My approach is grounded in extensive training in evidence-based practices that are beyond only individual counseling practices. If you have more questions about my background and training, check out my curriculum vitae or call me today.
