My Approach to Helping
I began as a professional Crisis Counselor answering the suicide hotlines. I know that clients who are overwhelmed by traumatic incidents benefit from a sense that they will not have to face the challenges of the moment alone. Brief therapy is well-suited to returning clients to normal levels of functioning by giving them additional coping skills and self-soothing techniques. In addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is my specialty, I am trained to provide Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (Michigan Psychoanalytic Association) and I recently trained to help more specific populations: Veterans and their families; through ELNEC to provide End of Life-Palliative counseling and Pain Management. I am trained to help Geriatric clients with their issues as well as Families providing care to aged relatives. Lastly, I provide problem resolution using my skills as a Supreme-Court trained Mediator.

More Info About My Practice

Clients who meet the criteria of being enrolled in individual therapy with me for at least 6 months are eligible to complete some of their sessions electronically.
