My Approach to Helping

I believe that the rapport one has with his or her therapist is the foundation for successful counseling; you should always feel comfortable not only with your counselor but also in the environment in which counseling takes place. Once a rapport has been established, I utilize a goal oriented approach while allowing for self exploration and processing. Though I believe that exploring past experiences is an important component to better understanding many of our current difficulties; I do not believe that focusing solely on our past experiences is the solution to our current problems. That said, I generally incorporate both past and present into the counseling process. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding my approach to counseling or the counseling process in general.
