My Approach to Helping
Are you a little (or really) anxious about the idea of sharing your personal story with a complete stranger? When you come to counseling, you deserve to be heard, respected and helped. You know that your life could be better, you just haven't figured out how to get there on your own. I know that, by the time you call a therapist you have tried a lot of potential solutions that have not worked for you. I know that you have thought for a long time about picking up the phone, and that you have lots of options (maybe an overwhelming number of options) for a therapist. I am committed to listening respectfully, non-judgmentally (all those secrets you have...I've heard them from lots of other people, and I know they aren't as strange as you may think they are!), and carefully so that I can help to guide you toward solutions that will get you to where you want to be.

More Info About My Practice
Does the idea of couples counseling makes you feel defeated? Many people worry that if they are seeking couples counseling, it's the beginning of the end of theirrelationship. Don't you owe it to yourself, your partner and your children (if you have them) to have the best relationship you can? I make sure to take the side of your relationship, instead of one partner's side, and I am committed to managing the level of emotion in the room. You should leave feeling better, not worse, than when you came in.
