Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy
I'm a registered professional.
Registered Intern-LPC
I believe psychotherapy is crucially beneficial in that it aims to identify core issues contributing to the concerns effecting the lives of individuals/families. Through a collaborative process of discovery, healing, and growth, clients often become more aware of “self”, gaining a greater understanding of their thought patterns, needs, and priorities, thereby enhancing emotional well-being. New ways of thinking effects emotions, and these emotions effect daily actions. Psychotherapy also aims to identify effective coping skills as well as problem solving techniques, assisting clients to become better able to manage their own psychological health.
My role as a therapist is to partner with my client and safely guide them towards the change that they seek. I do not judge my clients and our relationship is never contingent upon their behavior. I strive to foster a safe therapeutic relationship in which my clients feel safe to heal, develop, and grow. My role includes assisting them in seeing themselves in a more positive light. While I do not typically focus on past issues, I understand that often times, past-hurts must be healed in order to live a healthier, happier tomorrow. I work to assist my clients in discovering new, healthier ways of thinking as well as identifying effective coping strategies in situations that they cannot control. Ultimately, my role is assisting my clients meet their goals—better communication, more effective parenting, decreased anxiety, to heal.
