My Approach to Helping

Men bring unique issues and should not be treated the same as women. Gender differences and differences in general can bring about problems in families. I work with men and male adolescents that are working through the various problems that life has thrown at them. This includes mental health problems, but also focuses on "problems of living". I am gay and lesbian affirming. I believe that an individual's culture and traditions are important ways of healing. I specialize in a family approach as well as men's issues. I stress throughout therapy, the importance of relationship, both between client and therapist and between family members. I believe that the hurt we ultimatly experience is based on problems in our relationships or a lack of satisfying relationships.

More Info About My Practice

I have an interest in culturally competent therapy, which includes sexual orientation. I provide both family and individual therapy. In addition I can help individuals with assessment, I am available for consultations, and I am willing to discuss the possibility of supervision.οΎ”
