My Approach to Helping
I utilize an eclectic approach in working with clients. I take into account the primary issues of concern as well as the individual's unique personality profile and strengths. From here I decide together with the client what approach to healing and types of interventions might be best received.
I have a strong belief in the body-mind connection and work with individuals towards self acceptance and finding peace within their own bodies. I am also a big believer in "the healing environment." I have worked to make my office a place of serenity and comfort. It is located in one of the older homes within the Brea Historic District. The house itself is filled with a richness and style of architecture only the past can bring, while the overall setting ensures privacy and peace of mind.
More Info About My Practice
I have been in private practice since 2002. My office is centrally located in North Orange County, an easy drive for residents of Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.
I have received certification as an eating disorder specialist(CEDS) and am one of only a few in the Orange County area to receive this designation. I have been on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, OC Chapter for the past three years. Currently I serve as Board President.
A core value of mine is the right to healthcare for everyone. As such, my office accepts many types of insurance and my fees are reasonable. Mental health care, and in particular, treatment for eating disorders, can be extraordinarily expensive and is often excluded or denied by insurance companies. If an individual is motivated for health and recovery, I work with them to make the treatment and services I provide affordable.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to help my clients find their own unique paths in life. I view the therapeutic relationship as collaborative in nature, with the ultimate purpose of improving the health and wellbeing of each client.
