My Approach to Helping
What am I like as a therapist? I feel that you can expect to receive compassionate and fair treatment should you choose to select me as your counselor. I strive to be an objective therapist, sharing the intimate and healing relationship of therapy and treatment with clients with the ultimate respect.

I feel that more than a formal education and work experience is necessary to be a good therapist, although these are important. A well rounded education includes taking the time in the therapists life to be introspective (spent some time in their own treatment). This process is necessary so that the therapist does not bring their own problems or issues into the therapy of their clients.

This process of introspection and/or the ability to find a place to be reflective about life and feelings is a skill that needs to be retained for life. As a Christian and a therapist who have received both her own counseling and remains connected spiritually I feel this need continues to be met and brings another valuable dimension to your treatment.

Groups I Work With
I work with all populations of people, however I specialize in trauma survivors. Many of my clients come in facing a crisis in their lives and find when that crisis has subsided, much of the "foundation" of the crisis was created out of unresolved childhood trauma. Some clients are domestic violence survivors, some have sexual abuse in their background, some have both, or other issues that remain unhealed and still effect the current choices they make in life. I also work with families, resolving teen transition issues, children's issues and sometimes court referred issued. Due to my wide experience set, I am able to meet many needs.
