My Approach to Helping
My name is Vanessa Heffington, and I have been working as a clinician across several settings for the last seven years. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Chico State in 2010 and completed my Graduate degree in Counseling at Sacramento State in 2015. I also met a continuing education program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) through the Florida Institute of Technology in 2017.
While working in ABA, I focused on language development, cognition, and adaptive skill-building. In private practice and community-based mental health, I worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families through individual therapy, education-based behavior intervention and counseling, social skills development in the individual and group settings, and caregiver psycho-education. My eclectic experience provides me with a unique and well-rounded perspective, allowing me to be flexible and meet my clients where they’re at and move at a comfortable pace.
