My Approach to Helping
Traditional therapeutic models do not always resonate with people nowadays. Mindfulness training, on the other hand, if taught and utilized correctly, is just as effective today as it was thousands of years ago. Deep breathing can calm us during a busy day at the office. Non judgmental awareness can help us be more patient with ourselves and our families. Meditative techniques such as one-pointedness can increase our levels of focus and comprehension. Despite several misconceptions, mindfulness is a simple practice that we can ALL readily access. I would be happy to help you get started.
More Info About My Practice
One of the most appealing aspects of mindfulness based therapy is that it often does not require long term treatment. While mindfulness practice itself may be a lifelong journey, the associated therapy is more direct and goal-oriented. My intention is to teach you how to effectively apply mindfulness to your daily lives. You may expect to work on emotional identification, non judgmental awareness, controlled breathing, unplugging, authentic engagement, & much more. I want you to develop a lifelong skillset that can be utilized WITHOUT the assistance of therapy.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
I share in the concerns regarding today's behavioral healthcare system. It is often overpriced, limited in reach, and difficult to navigate. I believe strongly that therapy should be a universal right for those in need. I started my own practice in order to avoid bureaucratic pressures and offer sliding scale pricing based on individual client means. Contrary to our current healthcare system, honesty and transparency are the backbones of my practice.
