My Approach to Helping
I understand that starting the therapy process can be daunting. Finding the right person to meet with, knowing what you want to work on and finding a way to explain it to another person, and stepping out of your comfort zone to do something new takes courage and determination. I hope to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore what is getting in your way and how to develop the tools for you to move forward.
My approach is to choose from several different modalities to find the right "fit" for each person. This might mean focusing on one type of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) or employing several different types of therapy to provide you with the most helpful experience.
I am happy to provide a brief phone consultation or email exchange in order to answer any questions that you might have.
