My Approach to Helping

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over fifteen years of experience, and I specialize in working with kids 0-10 years of age. Whether it’s trouble with sleep, feeding, toilet training, anxiety, tantrums or other behavioral problems, sibling rivalry, preschool or school adjustment, parent-child relationship issues, family transitions, or some other childhood problem that’s causing distress and suffering, we can work together to get your little one and your family to a better place, using an approach tailored to your goals and the specific needs and strengths of your family and your unique child.

My approach is collaborative, transparent, and strengths-based, and my office is a place of safety, curious inquiry, and playful problem-solving (occasionally with the help of the very friendly dragon who resides there, especially when I’m working with little ones individually). Most of my work, though, involves parents actively participating in sessions. Why? Because for kids under ten, that’s what works. I have a lot of training, experience, and knowledge, but YOU are the expert in your family and your child. To be most effective, I need you to help me understand your priorities, values, strengths, hopes, and challenges.

My goal is to help the children and families with whom I work target specific problems, experience rapid, sustainable, meaningful improvement, and move forward with increased confidence, skill, harmony, and joy. Most childhood issues are highly treatable, and intervening early can help your child stay on a better path for the future. Call or email for a free 20-minute consultation.
