My Approach to Helping
I use CBT techniques, with a person-centered, solution-focused approach. I believe your thoughts have power over your perceptions and behaviors, and if we increase self-awareness, we can identify the source of the problem.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist counseling, marriages, families, individuals I graduated with a Master in Clinical Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Before my studies at FGCU, I was in the rental business and felt that I was in my calling when I did volunteer work helping people in the US and abroad. After much thought and consulting with family and friends, I decided I wanted to work more hands on helping hurting people through counseling. My philosophy is ultimately to make a difference in the world by helping hurting people.
I believe we are all born with a purpose to make the world a better place. Sometimes, many of us while growing up knew exactly what we wanted to be or do. For others, it is a process of self-discovery. I help individuals, groups, and families make sense, find harmony, peace and purpose in their lives.
Some of my experience is working with different psychiatric conditions and substance abuse. I have experience with group counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, individual counseling, and teaching psycho-educational groups.
