My Approach to Helping
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California, I am committed to the well-being of all my clients and and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek.
Since 2018, I have worked with a variety of population dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives. Prior to my work as a therapist, I have worked extensively in my role as a caseworker with women, especially first-time mothers and teen mothers, in dealing with family issues and parenting concerns. I have helped families and especially children adolescents with issues of depression, suicidality, anxiety, bipolar, obsessive compulsion (OCD), self-esteem, body-image, life transitions, family disruptions and dysfunctions, child abuse and childhood traumas, and school-related issues. I also worked with families and couples in unique situations providing necessary connections for family reunification that was disrupted due to substance abuse, traumas, domestic violence (DV), or miscommunication.
I am passionate about issues of reconciliation, marital conflicts, couple's conflicts as parents, relational conflicts, anger management, stress management, adult children of alcoholics, and women's issues. I know first-hand the experience of multiple pregnancy losses and the grief process that entails.
I am confident in my bilingual and bicultural capacity to help individuals understand the generational and cultural gaps that affect many immigrant families. I work to understand individuals under the lens of cognitive behavioral therapy (Romans 12:1), psychodynamic, family systems, and helping them tell their stories in a God-centered way.
I have been married to my husband since 2011. Through the ups and downs of life, and many counseling sessions later, I see that God wants to use the lessons I have learned in my marriage to be a blessing to others. We are beyond blessed with two beautiful children and a supportive community of family and friends.
The best way to describe my style is, "personable, straightforward, and genuine." I sincerely care for my clients and do not stop bettering myself as a clinician. I understand the need for my clients to have someone who withholds their judgment, sees them for who they are and not what they have done, and is not afraid to go deep with them. My growth has come from sitting with resilient individuals and learning from their life stories. Let me have the honor and pleasure of working with you.
