My Approach to Helping
Remote Only services no in-person sessions
My name is Naamau, licensed clinical social worker with experience in the treatment of trauma, family conflicts, depression, anxiety, and adjustment. I believe my clients are the experts in their specific concerns and are partners in the therapeutic process.
I also believe clients show up to therapy because they need a "safe" and nonjudgmental environment to effectively explore their challenges and to also tap into their strengths and improve on their “weaknesses.”
My biggest strength is my understanding of clients' strengths and belief that each client has a different way, time frame, and style of coping and respecting the clients by working with them whiles being mindful of all these differences.
I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, anger management issues, marital discourse, life transition, family, or job-related stress amongst others. I love working with teenagers and pre-adult clients who need a space to work through their life concerns and adjust to different roles at home, school, or work.
I am family-oriented techniques in working with families and being cognizant of the differences each family member has and how it needs to be considered when working with the entire family system.
I also use the following approaches among others in working with clients; motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, Grief counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution focus, and trauma focus.
