My Approach to Helping
Are you needing change, but aren't quite sure how to get started? As an Atlanta counselor, I'm honored to help my clients work to figure out how to release their need for perfection and live more authentic and genuine lives. This leads to less anxiety, anger, and depression and more peace, joy, and contentment. I know it can be difficult to take the step to call a counselor, and yet I've found that my clients are some of the most resilient and gritty people I know. I love helping people in their journey towards overcoming the barriers in their lives!
Whether you need individual counseling or couples counseling, I would be honored to work with you.
More Info About My Practice
I've been a counselor for about seven years and worked in business prior to this career. I've found that past experiences and relationships impact our stress levels and most of our stress and anxiety can be helped by working to change our approaches to life. When we aren't able to approach stress effectively, our relationships suffer. It's all cyclical. So, I have special training in couples work and EMDR which is a type of therapy that helps treat past trauma. These, combined with other therapies that assist with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues are a great toolbox that I pull from when I work with clients.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I love helping people overcome stress related to work, home life, and relationships. I enjoy helping you figure out what barriers stand in your way and ways you can overcome them. I end up seeing a lot of working professionals who are experiencing high stress due to the demands of a successful career. I also end up seeing many couples who struggle with communication, connection, and trust.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
When I worked in business, I loved helping companies succeed. And that's exactly what I love about counseling. I love helping people reach their personal goals in life. I believe in the power of genuinely and honestly sharing your story and working through your stuff. Because we all have stuff and when we face it and work through it we are able to experience more happiness in life.
