My Approach to Helping

Welcome to my practice! Feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, frustrated? Unhappy with your relationships? Challenges at work or school? Feeling like something needs to change? You've come to the right place. Find your inner strength and discover your true potential through therapy. It takes courage to reach out when you need help. Call me for a 15-minute complimentary consultation to determine your options.

I specialize in working with adults, teens, and children facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma and grief, and learning differences and ADHD that negatively impact their lives. In my work with couples and families, I help to increase connection, repair relationships, and navigate conflict.

Change is difficult. It takes courage and willingness to work on yourself. We each have a story that defines our lives...for better or worse, but that story does not have to define who we are. We can change that story for the better and lead more fulfilling and happier lives. Brene Brown once said "when we deny the story it defines us, when we own the story we can write a brave new ending". I will show you how to change your story. I invite you to show up for yourself, peel back the layers, and invest in the process.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Learning Disabilities & ADHD: I am an expert in the evaluation and treatment of learning disabilities and ADHD. I regularly consult with child psychiatrists, pediatricians, and school personnel to coordinate care. I provide consultations and parent training for the emotional and behavioral issues associated with learning challenges, guidance on implementing school recommendations, as well as assistance on understanding the IEP process and 504 plans. I conduct school observations and attend off-site meetings, if needed. Learning challenges can create significant stress for family relationships. I help parents and families learn to navigate the difficulties and manage the strong emotions that go hand in hand with learning challenges. For children and adolescents, learning difficulties can wreak havoc on one's sense of self and feelings of worth. I help kids discover their inherent gifts and develop their strengths rather than focus on their perceived weaknesses.

Eating Disorders: I have significant training and experience working with both adults and adolescents with Eating Disorders. I utilize an outpatient approach that coordinates care with doctors, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, and psychiatrists. For adolescents, family therapy and parent education are a significant part of the treatment process. I collaborate with the Healthy Teen Project when a higher level of care is needed. I am also on staff as an on-call therapist with the Center For Discovery, a residential eating disorder treatment program located in Menlo Park.
