My Approach to Helping
I have a focus on grief and loss, anger, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, communication concerns, impulsivity, parenting, sexuality, and gender identity concerns. My therapy style blends psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral approaches on a foundation of real life experience and compassion.
I came to this profession after spending many years in the business world, mostly in high tech when a confluence of events moved me to pursue a dream and become a Marriage and Family Therapist. Returning to graduate school, I obtained a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2004 and then achieved a Doctor of Education also in Counseling Psychology in 2007. In my private practice, I see adults, couples, and children. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
