My Approach to Helping
"I didn't think life was going to be this hard"- that's what I hear from my clients who are trying to figure out how to "adult". You are so brave, and I know you don't feel that way right now. Showing up and starting is the hardest part when life is overwhelming, and you've already done that by being here. You're here because life is getting too much for you. You feel like you can't narrow down your symptoms to one category because you feel ALL of the things, maybe even all at the same time. Confusion, stress, pain, heartbreak, fear, loneliness, sadness, and anger are your normal. Because when you've experienced hard, difficult things in your life, those feelings ARE normal. You're tired of "faking" being ok as life has become overwhelming. When was the last time you felt confident and present, able to be ENOUGH for yourself and others? Or just free to take care of YOU without guilt?
How amazing would it be to feel at home in your own body, or even confident? Instead of taking care of everyone else, you could focus on YOU? What if you could feel your emotions without numbing them or hiding from them? I specialize in working with young people who are struggling to navigate work, school, relationships, and themselves due to past pain. That junk from childhood adolescence didn't disappear, and that is what you want to forget about the most.
