On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Getting started is easier than you might think. Call for a free 10 minute consultation by phone to get started. The first office appointment is usually offered within one week of your call.
Sessions are much like a conversation, with a purpose -- where your needs are the top priority. Sometimes there is homework; always aimed at helping you live the life you desire, outside of the therapy room.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Most people do not realize that relationships need specialized care because it's much more delicate a process than simply refereeing disagreements. No two relationships are identical. If you are looking for relationship help, be sure that you are getting help from a well-trained relationship-focused professional who can move beyond a textbook approach into truly customizing evidence-based help for your relationship.
Most counselors and social workers receive only 1 or 2 courses on relationships during their education and will generalize in practice (like a family physician does). When looking for relationship help, be sure you are seeing a specialist who truly understands relationships and has chosen to dedicate his or her practice to this delicate and complex subject.
