My Approach to Helping
Hello! My name is Glynis (she, her) and I am a licensed social worker who enjoys working with LGBTQ+ populations, women, and pregnant folks. Do you have trauma, depression, anxiety, or maybe just struggling with a difficult season of life? I’m here to help support you on this journey. Maybe you’re someone who’s tried therapy before and you feel like it doesn’t work. It’s frustrating, I hear you.
Something unique about my approach is that I’m a brainspotting practitioner, a technique that focuses on the brain-body connection and can be extremely effective for folks who’ve struggled with traditional therapy in the past. Love talk therapy? Great, me too! That’s why I use a blended approach of brainspotting, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.
I believe in empowering my clients as the experts in their own lives because everyone deserves someone in their corner. I strive to create a safe space where you feel comfortable letting your guard down. I also am appreciative of the value of humor in sessions.
