My Approach to Helping
I am a Clinical Psychologist (MSc) from Greece. I have lived in Greece, Italy and Netherlands, having experience with diverse populations and ages, starting with children and continuing with adolescents and adults. I studied Psychology (BSc) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and after my Bachelor, I pursued a Master degree (MSc) in Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University. I continue my professional growth by being trained as a certified Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapist (EABCT) by the Greek Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I use the Cognitive Behavioral approach (CBT), incorporating techniques from ACT and Gestalt therapy. CBT is a strongly evidence-based therapy and can be applied to a variety of problems. It has helped many people deal with their problems, concerns, and symptoms as well as improve the quality of their lives in a short period of time. CBT encompasses a range of techniques and approaches that address our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. These can range from structured psychotherapies to self-help practices.
In whatever stage you are in your life, CBT will help you learn how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on your behaviors, emotions and life in general. Most important, you will find healthier and more efficient ways to think, cope with your difficulties and stay at the present moment. In the end, you will acquire self-awareness, a more realistic self-concept and new copying skills that can be useful both now and in the future.
Do not hesitate to invest in yourself and go a step further.
