My Approach to Helping
I treat adults with depression and/or anxiety, including those with substance use. I also see clients wanting to do spiritual, transpersonal, or integration work. I practice skills training, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Feedback Informed Therapy (FIT). I am currently offering online, short-term 15-20 sessions of skills training and EFT. During sessions you will learn some helpful skills then we will focus on expressing and dealing with your emotions and your story and life. Research shows that a primary factor of effective therapy is clients having a good relationship with their therapists. Both EFT and FIT emphasize the therapeutic relationship. At this time, I’m not seeing clients in crisis, those with a history of multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, or those with a history of significant trauma. I graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings. For the last 14 yrs, I have worked in crisis mental health, including on mobile crisis teams and short-term therapy clinics. I enjoy hiking, gardening, and music.
