My Approach to Helping
Hi! My name is Brittney! I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) trained in Las Vegas, NV. Living in Vegas, I have had the privilege of being exposed to diverse populations along with alternative lifestyles. I have experience working in a non-profit setting for almost 8 years now and working with a diverse set of populations including adolescents, families, couples, and individuals in the justice system/probation/federal and running groups around mental health issues and substance abuse.
My training and education have provided me with various therapeutic techniques and methodologies. I am a major advocate for self-love, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being in both my personal and professional lives. Because of this, I use a strength-based and client-driven approach in therapy. It's very important to me to offer a safe and comfortable space for all of my clients. I enjoy incorporating motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy in my work with those looking for support in trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, alternative lifestyles, self-love, and conflict resolution. However, I believe that, even though I may be an expert in certain areas of therapeutic knowledge, I am not an expert in my client’s life. They are! Therefore, when I work with clients, I believe it is a collaborative journey and I will walk alongside them. I absolutely love seeing the positive outcomes in my clients’ lives.
If we decide to do this journey together, this is what you may expect from me. I provide a safe and nurturing space to help you become the best version of yourself. I am non-judgmental, compassionate, a good listener, a teacher, collaborator, and I always have your best interest in mind. I will be someone that roots for you, encourages you, occasionally may be humorous, and offers insight to view a situation differently than you have viewed it. To help you look through a situation with a new lens.
I would like to hear more of your story and unique experience so we can decide if it would be a good therapeutic fit. I look forward to chatting with you!
