Dr. Hansen was granted a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, PhD. Following his successful completion of a pre-doctoral internship at the Honolulu Veterans Hospital on the islands of Hawaii and American Samoa. As a well-published author and speaker, Dr. Hansen has received multiple awards, including the Rocky Mountain Association's research award (2012), as well as being recently cited in the Journal of Pragmatic Case Studies (2015) and the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy (2013).
His research on successful psychotherapy outcomes was featured at the International Congress of Cognitive Psychotherapy (ICCP) in Hong Kong in 2015. His writing on therapist multicultural variables that lead to rapid positive changes in psychotherapy has been featured at the American Psychological Association's Annual Conferences in Boulder, CO (2016), San Diego, CA. (2012), and Honolulu, HI. (2013).
Dr. Hansen taught as a member of BYU's graduate adjunct and Staff faculty from 2009 - 2016.
