My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and have been working in the field for over 5 years. My approach to therapy includes aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I specialize in anxiety and depression and have worked at several different inpatient psychiatric facilities providing therapy and assessment to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health crises.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to be open and honest with themselves and their therapist, someone motivated to learn and grow, and someone who is willing to commit to the hard work that is therapy. All of us struggle at times; unfortunately, life can sometimes feel overwhelmingly difficult.
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, even if it's just for a short time. My approach is not to tell you what to do, but instead to help you gain insight into how and why you think and feel the way you do and to help you see things from a new perspective.
