My name is Akamin Nkengaka and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Behavioral health, a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. I am a License Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) in Rhode Island (RI) and a License Advance Alcohol and Drugs Counselor (LAADC) in California. I am working with clients statewide via tele health setting. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Holistic approach to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My emphasize to therapeutic approach varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Holistic approach in problem solving, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality, and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.
