My Approach to Helping

I am a licensed mental health counselor whose aim is to create an empathetic and empowering therapeutic environment for each individual. I tailor treatment to the unique needs and strengths of each person by flexibly integrating techniques from a variety of clinical frameworks including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy. Through the collaborative work conducted in treatment, I strive to enhance an individual’s insight into his or her struggles, cultivate resolutions that improve quality of life, bolster self-esteem, and establish skills to manage symptoms adaptively.

I have extensive experience providing therapy with college age people and adults in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient mental health clinics, outpatient medical clinics, psychiatric inpatient units, counseling centers and schools. I earned my undergraduate degree from NYU and my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from USC. I went on to earn my LMHC from Yeshiva's Ferkauf School of Psychology, a division of Albert Einstein School of Medicine. I maintain a private practice where I am able to see clients virtually and now in person

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

In my practice, I enjoy working with people who have had a hard time expressing their emotions due to their belief that they are "weak or flawed." June is "Men's mental health month." I believe that many times men's mental health issues are put on the back burner for many reasons including the feeling that it is better to bottle things up rather than process one's feelings. I encourage anyone to reach out if you feel that this resonates with you. Allow our time together to be a safe space to explore what otherwise doesn't feel "safe" to otherwise discuss with friends or family members.
