My Approach to Helping
I received my Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Over the years have worked in a variety of diverse settings such as the intesive case management program (ACT model), the psychiatric hospital, community clinics, outpatient patient treatment programs, crisis intervention with P.E.R.T. (Psychiatric Emergency Response Team) and Kaiser Permanente Psychiatric Department. I also facilitated workshops for law enforcement and probation officers, on how to better interact with people living with mental illness.
On top of being a licensed psychotherapist, I am a Certified Pranic Healer. As a certified pranic healer, and a MCKS Pranic Healing Level 1 instructior, I utilize Pranic Healing for psychiatric conditions as well as medical conditions. I give importance to teaching my clients about self care on all levels (energetic, psychological, physical and spiritual etc). I use my well tuned intuition during the sessions to make it more productive. I have completed Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship, and I am proud to be using an integrative approach that addresses all levels of existence and makes healing faster. I am also a brain health coach and guide my clients to have healthier brains. I am holistic in my approach and clients leave my office feeling lighter and more peaceful!
It is my intention to create a safe space for you to feel comfortable enough to share your most vulnerable moments, because it is in those moments the healing takes place and self love can resurface. I believe, that we must be able to look at ourselves: the good, the bad, and the ugly, in order to set foot on the journey of healing. This will look different for everyone, but before we can create a life worth living, we must have the courage to look at ourselves with compassion and acceptance. Only then can we let go of what is no longer serving us. This is a process, and one that I hope to be there to guide you through. It is my sincerest belief that no one has better authority in your life than yourself. Bearing that in mind, I will be there to support you and challenge you.
My style is eclectic, founded in integrative (meaning I integrate Western Psychology with Mind-Body-Spirit modalities) to wellness and in Pranic Healing. I prefer to take a power-with vs. power-over approach, because as aforementioned, you are the greatest authority in your life.
Growth is one of my core values, as such I love feedback and welcome you to share your likesdislikes with me so that I can also learn from you. I look forward to our work together! Can’t wait to tackle the challenges your are facing and turn them into opportunities!
