My Approach to Helping

I specialize in individual, couples and family psychotherapy and maintain a private practice in at the Ashland Armory in Ashland, Oregon. I have had a varied professional career that has ranged from being an assistant professor of psychology at a state university, to clinical director of child and family services at a community mental health center, to being clinical director of 3 day treatment programs for elementary, middle school and high school students, to being a program director of a major yoga and health center, to offering clinical services to geriatric care centers. In over 30 years of clinical experience, I have come to believe that the most valuable service I offer my clients is a deep conviction that psychological health is available to everyone. When a person or a couple understands the ways in which they get in the way of this health, they can change these habits and naturally come into a creative and joy filled relationship with their lives. Every life has challenges but when you have faith that the inner resources are available to deal with these challenges, hope replaces despair and creative encounter replaces a feeling of stuckness.
