I'm a registered professional.
Registered Psychotherapist
I believe people are basically good, even though obscurations create confusion and pain. Healing occurs when human beings are able to experience their difficulties and also reconnect to their inherent goodness. One of my teachers said: "pain is not a punishment and pleasure is not a reward." When we are suffering this is often hard to believe, yet our wild and crazy lives are the path. Awakening to our authentic selves is a personal journey. Therapy offers guidance during times of transitions, transformation, fears of the unknown, dissolution of what once was or just ordinary human dilemmas. The client takes the journey. The therapist provides tools for safe passage.
I assist individuals in rediscovering their well-being by uncovering core material and beliefs that often reside beneath consciousness. I use Empathic Attendance, Mindfulness/Awareness, Somatic Accessing, Felt-Sense, Visualization, and Dialogue with Different "Parts," of the Client to facilitate this process.
Contemplative Psychological methods are the the core of my work including: Mindfulness / Awareness, Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy, Body-Centered Psychology, Brainspotting Trauma Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. When appropriate I also use: Transactional Analysis, Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Brief Therapy.
