I believe that each individual is capable of healing and growing toward greater health and wellness in all areas of life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I also believe that the very things we struggle with in life can be used for our personal transformation.

When we seek therapy or counseling, it's because we are in pain. Something in our life is not working for us and we desire relief or change. I have specialized training in grief and loss, and find that unresolved loss is frequently at the root of issues including depression, anxiety and addiction. Based on your needs, interests and readiness, we will utilize a wide variety of tools, ranging from cognitive and behavioral to the more philosophical and soulful.

Inner Bonding

A powerful tool for building self-esteem and self-love. We focus on developing a compassionate and loving Inner Adult who connects with spiritual guidance to address the core issue of self love. In effect, we re-parent ourselves, manifesting healthy life skills that we did not learn earlier in life.


Identifying the various parts we have inside, and examining our underlying needs, in order to learn about the roots of persistent behavioral patterns. Through dialogue techniques, we listen to and validate each part, moving toward greater integration, finding healthier ways to meet our needs and gaining increased access to our creativity.


Using a small sandbox and a wide variety of objects and figures, we delve into our inner selves. Done with or without words, sandtray allows us to use our tactile senses, offering us an expressive arena where we can freely explore ourselves and our relationships. Discovery and insight often emerge; we may gain access to a lost playfulness or we may connect with deep feelings.

Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation is helpful for calming anxiety, exploring a problem area, or developing the skill of Being with ourselves. Beginning with relaxation techniques, and proceeding with gentle suggestions, we create a unique and tailor-made inner experience. Each Guided Meditation is designed to offer exploration, insight, personal wisdom and empowerment.


Art is a wonderful way to engage with ourselves at a deeper level than we might ordinarily be accustomed to. Especially for those of us who are gifted verbally, Art can help us to get out of our own way. Working with a variety of materials, art-making helps us be more open and less guarded. Sometimes we make important discoveries, revealing to ourselves things we previously kept hidden away. The ensuing work can be deep and rewarding. In addition, art can be liberating and fun!

I am particularly drawn to helping people increase their self-esteem. Over and over, I find that the way we see ourselves, treat ourselves, and love ourselves has everything to do with the quality of our lives - our happiness, and, conversely, our suffering. Low self-esteem often sabotages our most sincere intentions and attempts to improve ourselves and change our behaviors. In order to become more self-confident, improve relationships, and change persistent negative patterns of behavior, we must learn how to love ourselves, taking full responsibility for our own happiness, and letting go of blaming and shaming ourselves and others. I love helping people to find and value their true selves, letting go of old beliefs and judgments that have hindered them in the past, and discovering their inherent ability to be their own best friend. What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I am passionate about saying "yes" to life: accepting challenges and allowing them to lead us more deeply into learning about ourselves - healing old wounds and growing toward our full potential. I believe that painful feelings and patterns are an invitation to address the ways we are not taking loving care of ourselves, in all our roles. When we resist this invitation, ignoring it or trying to “make it go away,” we can develop depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, etc. When we allow the issues to get our attention, and give ourselves the gift of self-exploration, we have a golden opportunity to improve our mental health, increase our happiness, and raise the overall quality of our lives.
