There are so many therapists that will spend time with clients attempting to understand the problem, or problems, that have led to a person seeking counseling. Though this may be an effective way to treat some problems, it is often unnecessary, unhelpful, complex and even hurtful to relive experiences to people in therapy. Instead, in using the Solution Focused Approach counseling is focused on solutions, strengths and scaling the goals in therapy to make the unsolvable, solvable.
When you go to the doctor you want solutions, not how the problem was caused or why it is present. Lifes problems are the same and does not require complex solutions. Counseling is brief, solvable and focuses on goals as opposed to the origin of the problem. I have received years of training in graduate school, learned from people with valuable knowledge and skills and traveled across the globe to London, England to gain even more knowledge and experience in this approach. I listen for language that builds on strengths as opposed to weaknesses.

My Role as a Therapist
I believe the reason people come to counseling is to find help finding solutions to life's problems. I use a solution focused approach which allows me to assist all ages with numerous issues ranging from marriage (pre and post), sports, social, attachment and general anxieties, depression, and grief counseling to end of life. My approach to every client is as individual as the person I may be counseling. I am just a passenger on this voyage. You pick me up and let me off when you feel it is appropriate.
My goal is to provide you with the optimal environment to help you on your quest for solutions. I hope you have a great day and a better tomorrow.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
I would like to walk along beside you to help you find solutions. Counseling can take you into a world of possibilities instead of difficulties. It is a process of finding miracles in the midst of a problem focused world. The average number of sessions is 6-8 total.
