My philosophy of counseling is client-centered, based on respect for the individual and belief in each person's intrinsic value. I believe in the potential of the human spirit to rise above painful life situations. I believe it is my responsibility as a counselor to assess what the clients' problems are, to offer hope and support, and to empower them to make the necessary changes in their lives so they can reach their goals and realize their full potential. My approach to counseling is also integrative, focusing on the relationship between thinking, feeling, and acting. I help clients think about their beliefs, experience their struggles on a feeling level, and learn to behave in new ways.
