My Approach to Helping
I see each of my clients as having a unique set of strengths and do my best to equip them with a variety of resources to enhance their quality of life. I stay abreast of the newest evidence based treatment approaches and respect traditional approaches as well. I encourage collaboration with other treatment professionals. In summary, I find it extremely rewarding to watch my clients mature into confident and productive human beings and share their frustration when that goal seems unatainable.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I consider the client-therapist relationship to be of utmost importance.Just as relationships with family member's can help or hinder us, I think a therapist's connection with their clients has a great bearing on successful outcomes. Having one person's attention for an extended period of time, even if other caregiver's are involved can be a very corrective experience within itself. A lot of clients with addiction related issues have also had trauma related issues so having quality individual time with a counselor can be very comforting.
