My Approach to Helping

I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal themselves and to feel fully empowered in life.
The path of healing is about remembering who you are and returning home to your self.

By processing trauma and healing from the wounds of your childhood, we can strip away what is no longer yours to carry. As we bring awareness to your patterns and your intergenerational burdens and gifts, we can consciously change your way of being in the world, moving you towards a path of authentic expression. You are always able to return to the core of who you are: a powerful being capable of creating, connecting, giving and receiving love.

I have worked with many survivors of childhood abuse and I have over 75 hours of specialized training in human sexuality. My personal experiences combined with professional training have led me to help others work through their own sexual abuse, sexual harassment, shame around sex, and religious trauma. I help others heal from wounds around their sexuality and their bodies, fostering a greater awareness of the mindbody connection and releasing pain out of the body. I understand the effects trauma, neglect, and abuse have on the body and how it can show up in our relationships.

Childhood abuse has lasting effects and can often be the root cause of underlying anxiety, depression, addictions, and relationship difficulties. If you feel isolated, ashamed or unsure if the abuse happened, I encourage you to seek treatment with me. You have permission to get the support you need. It is time for your story to be heard?

More Info About My Practice

The way I work focuses on building strengths, identifying healthy coping skills, and processing trauma. I use art therapy, somatic IFS, and trauma psychoeducation to inform my practice. This means we will tap into your creative side, listen to your body, talk about your childhood, and get in touch with your different parts of self. I offer art therapy groups on the following topics: trauma, sexual abuse, and body image.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is a sacred journey. One where I humbly get to share and be with your emotions and experiences. I view myself as a professional, yet I am not the expert on your life. I trust in your own ability to be present with and heal yourself. I am here to come alongside you on your journey of healing; to encourage, empower, and support you as you come to know yourself more deeply. If you enter treatment with me, we would work in collaboration to strengthen your mind, body, and spirit.
It is important to me to be nonjudgemental, safe space for all. I seek to demonstrate healthy boundaries and to be a place where you can practice asserting your own boundaries in session.
